Q: What does my ticket pay for?
A: Concordia Esoterica ticket costs cover the costs of the Venue, catering, covering food for Crew attendance, and go toward subsidising Concession tickets. No profit is expected from the event and anything that is left at the end will go directly toward helping to fund the next Concordia Esoterica event.

Q: How do I get to the event?
A: See When and Where for details of where the event is and suggestions for transportation. There will not be any support from the event-runners to help people get to the venue.

Q: Can I bring my own food or drink?
A: Unless required for medical needs (please inform us in advance) only food provided by Manchester Hall is permitted at the event. There should be ample refreshments but if you find yourself wanting on the day of the event, please ask a Steward for help.

Q: Is alcohol permitted?
A: Alcohol is not permitted in the venue. Please do not bring your own or smuggle it in.

Q: Can I bring a weapon for aesthetic reasons?
A: No. There are to be no weapon props at this event.

Q: Can I sell my IC products or perform for money?
A: You are welcome to sell your IC products and expect an IC response to such. If you would like to perform, you are welcome to do so only after all the talks are finished for the day.

Q: Will you pay me IC to perform music?
A: No, there is no cost to attend IC and therefore there is no budget to pay people IC either.

Q: Will you give me a free ticket to perform music?
A: No. We cannot afford to give free tickets to anyone due to the tight budget of the event.

Q: Can I crew as my Player Character?
A: This is permissible for Characters who have IC cleared it with Bella Vicente d'Apulian first, and provided you do the job given to you first and then socialise only after talks are done. You will not be paid IC as the event is run IC at a loss.

Q: Can I host a talk?
A: Yes! When booking (or if you decide later, by letting me know by email) you can offer to run a talk. After the end of the Empire event before Concordia Esoterica (so, E4 2025) we will reach out to everyone who offered to run a talk. If there are more offers for talks than time available we may have to decline some offers but we will do our best to fit everyone in.

Q: Can I do a talk about non-magical matters?
A: Concordia Esoterica is an event for discussing Magic. If it's sufficiently Magic-adjacent it may be considered but will be considered a lower priority than strictly on-topic discussions.

Q: What is Conclite and how does it work?
A: Rules for Conclite will be added to this Website at a later date when they are finalised for Concordia Esoteria III.

Q: I need to cancel, can I get a refund?

Q: Is there a private space for mental health time?
A: See When and Where for details of how we are using the venue, but yes – the Lounge will be an area for storing bags and also double as an OC quiet space during the event.

Q: Is there somewhere to change at the venue?
A: Only in the toilets – the main rooms we have available will not be suitable for this. Any makeup must be cleaned up thoroughly: we advise applying makeup before arriving and, if possible, arriving in costume.

Q: Can my child attend?
A: This event is strictly for over 18s.

Q: What is your policy on political PvP?
A: This is a polite magical conference so expect conflicting opinions but expect it to be presented politely. Characters upsetting the Decorum of the event will be told to leave and their Players offered the opportunity to return as an NPC for the rest of the event.

Q: In light of the recent transphobic rules from the EHRC, is the Venue going to be difficult about who uses which toilet?
A: Absolutely not, and the situation will be monitored to make sure this remains the case. This issue directly affects the event-runner so rest assured it is well in hand. Please, pee where you like (provided it's in a toilet).
